It's coming... Just 6 days away and there's already been a flurry of activity on the trade market. Where will some of the big names turn up? Who HAS to make moves to compete for the playoffs (hint: the Cleveland Indians)? No guests on today's podcast, but lining up a BIG Dodgers fan for tomorrow to talk trade reactions...
Haven't been able to listen to this one yet bc it takes a while to load on my phone out here in the boonies...but you can thank me for shaking Santana out of his slump. Now we know he reads your blog.
ReplyDeleteMy trade deadline wish is that the Tribe will not give up any of what little coveted talent they have in order to make a run at this postseason, esp when the odds are for the wildcard at this point and that could be a 1 game postseason run. The key to this team is to keep the talent signed (Choo, most importantly for now), keep developing what they have going in the right direction, and hope that this team keeps pace in the Central while they only have to be a few games above .500 to do it, and then in a couple of years 85 wins should be a disappointment. IMO, there are too many holes to fill to mortgage any of the talent against plugging one of the holes, and this group still has a chance (with Lowe out of the rotation) at the Central. They have the Tigers head to head for two more series. Just my $.02
Long term, need a right hand hitting outfielder and a #1 or #2 pitcher, but there isn't enough talent there to give up what it would take to get those right now. Best chance may be patience and development...story of the life of a Cleveland sports fan. Ugh
